When Majid Majidi set the shoot of his Indian saga, Beyond The Clouds, for January 23, he expected Kangana Ranaut to join him after 3 days. Yes, today the Queen star was supposed to shoot for the film!
SpotboyE.com can tell you that the Iranian filmmaker had handed over the lead role in the film which revolves around a impoverished brother-sister duo, a la his most famous work Children Of Heaven, to Kangana.

When the two sat down for their first meeting, Majidi was almost immediately convinced that she was the perfect fit for the role.
Earlier, Deepika Padukone had reportedly had a look-test held in the Dhobi Ghat of Mumbai, which saw her sporting dark make-up and tattered clothes.

After a quick narration, Kangana was onboard and the preparations began.
Kangana started her workshops and her clothes were readied. But until then, Majidi had not shared the script with her. The Tanu Weds Manu star knew only about her track.
Just a few days ago, Kangana was sent a bound script.
Reading it, she realised that the film has two protagonists (Ishaan Khatter who would have played her brother, and she herself) who have two parallel stories running in the narrative.
Kangs (as she is fondly called) felt that the film- which will be an Indian release and not just for festival circuit- is not the right fit for her presently when she is at the top of her game in Bollywood where she has her pick of heroine-centric projects.
And with that Kangana made up her mind that she needs to let this pass.
A day or two later, she met Majidi at length and convinced him respectfully why she would like to opt out. Majidi understood and both shook hands gracefully.
Majidi was once again left without a heroine.
Who will finally bag this role in the film which marks the Bollywood debut of Shahid Kapoor’s half brother Ishaan? Let's wait and watch.
As for Kangana, her next is Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, followed by Hansal Mehta's Simran and Ketan Mehta’s Rani Lakshmibai.
